About this support

ADAPTS (Accelerating Decarbonisation and Productivity through Technology and Skills) is a programme delivered by AMRC Cymru, part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, supporting manufacturers in Wales to improve productivity and decarbonise. It is fully funded through the relevant council's UK Shared Prosperity Fund allocation. The programme supports businesses from any sector to decarbonise, increase productivity, innovate and upskill staff. Initial engagement involves capturing information on technology status, decarbonisation opportunities, a productivity and environmental assessment, and identifying training opportunities via the Wales Personal Learning Account. If a business progresses to full-scale support, this consists of tailored support from the AMRC Cymru engineering team for up to ten weeks focused on advanced technology adoption, access to bespoke technology-skills training through Coleg Cambria for three staff members, and foundational sustainability training delivered by Small World Consulting. Businesses engage by completing a contact form, after which an assigned engineer arranges a week-one assessment involving a site visit and provision of business information for a carbon assessment tool.

Who it is for

Aimed at manufacturers based in Wales, across any sector; progression from initial assessment to full-scale support depends on the outcome of the week-one assessment.
