AMRC North West

AMRC North West is a facility of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, built using a £20m grant from the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership Growth Deal on the Samlesbury Enterprise Zone. It aims to help the North West region's manufacturing community access advanced technologies that improve productivity, performance and quality, working with both manufacturers and their supply chains, and is open to large companies and SME manufacturers. Current activity includes the North West Additive Manufacturing Forum, bringing together industry to drive innovation and collaboration in additive manufacturing across polymer and metallic technologies; UK Shared Prosperity Fund-funded manufacturing support, which delivers fully funded programmes to manufacturers of any size across all sectors in Lancashire to help them innovate, adopt new technologies and decarbonise, subject to further eligibility criteria; and involvement in FoFoRAN (Factory of the Future Open RAN), part of an £88 million UK Government R&D investment across 19 projects. Capabilities include additive, digital and subtractive manufacturing and sustainability. Businesses are invited to contact the centre to discuss support.
