Growth Hub Skills Service

Skills brokerage and apprenticeship advice helping employers plan and fund workforce training.

About this support

The GBSLEP Growth Hub Skills Service works with businesses across Greater Birmingham and Solihull to understand their training and skills needs and help them find the right provision. Apprenticeship Advisers and Skills Brokers provide one-on-one support to design bespoke training and recruitment plans, drawing together expertise and support services in one place. Regional employers can have their training needs analysed to produce a unique skills plan identifying suitable programmes and provision tailored to the business. The service also helps employers navigate government initiatives, including the Plan for Jobs and apprenticeship grants, so they can access available incentives to support job creation and training. Support is delivered in part through funding from the European Social Fund, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Midlands Engine and the European Regional Development Fund. The page offers a free Training Needs Analysis or support call for employers, alongside separate guidance for individual learners on jobs, apprenticeships, Adult Education Budget courses, Skills Support for the Workforce (ESF) courses and higher education options.
