GM Advance

Investment fund offering subsidised loan and equity finance to advanced manufacturing and materials businesses in Greater Manchester.

About this support

GM Advance is a £10 million investment fund established by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to support the growth of companies in the advanced manufacturing and materials sector. It offers a range of subsidised financial products intended to retain, grow and attract businesses in the region. The fund was created because advanced manufacturing and materials companies in Greater Manchester were found to lack 'gateway' funding for innovation and product development, and GM Advance's suite of products is designed to bridge this gap, helping businesses grow more quickly. GM Advance forms a central part of Greater Manchester's Investment Zone, which is providing £160 million over 10 years to support development of the city-region's advanced manufacturing and materials sector. Application guidance, a general application form and a separate application form for a Micro Equity programme are available from the page, along with information on how subsidy is calculated. Completed application forms are submitted by email to GMCA with the project name referenced in the subject line.

Who it is for

Open to companies ranging from start-ups to SMEs in the advanced manufacturing and materials sector that are based in Greater Manchester, or that have tangible plans to relocate or expand operations into the region.
