Manufacturing and Engineering Membership

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce runs a manufacturing and engineering community for its members, which the Chamber describes as one of its largest and most active, making up close to a fifth of its membership. The offer is built around sector representation and practical business support rather than grant funding. Members can join the Manufacturing and Engineering Forum, a chaired series of sessions focused on sharing best practice, working through shared challenges such as energy costs, workforce skills, export complexity and the pace of technological change, and shaping an industry position the Chamber can use in its policy work. Alongside the forum, members can use the Chamber's specialist international trade team for help with tariffs, customs procedures, documentation and moving goods across borders, and Chamber Utilities for energy procurement, renewable options and recovery of overpayments. Members are also encouraged to take part in adjacent Chamber activity, including construction clubs and trade forums, to find customers and supply-chain opportunities outside their immediate sector. Access is through Chamber membership, and businesses can contact the membership team to discuss joining the group.
