HVM Catapult Baglan

HVM Catapult Baglan is a facility in South Wales, part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult network, providing Welsh businesses with space to innovate, test and refine manufacturing processes. It operates as a digital factory hub, offering manufacturers access to a range of digital tools and techniques covering areas such as sustainability and efficiency, allowing them to experiment with technologies in a low-risk environment and gain hands-on experience with resources that might otherwise be out of reach. The centre works alongside Welsh SMEs to help modernise operations and adopt advanced technologies, aiming to strengthen resilience, create high-value jobs and support economic growth across Wales. As part of the wider HVM Catapult network, Baglan gives Welsh manufacturers a gateway to expertise in decarbonisation, digitalisation and skills development. Technologies available at the centre include a SMART workbench, 3D printing, advanced robotics, virtual reality and augmented reality. The centre is expected to generate up to £18 million in additional GVA annually within five years by helping Welsh businesses improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability through digital transformation. It is located at Baglan Bay Innovation Centre, Port Talbot.
