UK Certificates of Origin

Chamber-issued export documentation confirming the origin of goods for customs clearance.

About this support

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) issues UK Certificates of Origin for goods being sold and permanently exported to non-Arab countries, as well as to Egypt and Iran. A certificate of origin states where shipped goods were grown, manufactured or produced, and is used to confirm goods can enter a destination country and/or qualify for relief or reduction in duty; some countries require this specific certificate rather than a statement on the commercial invoice, and it must be signed by a relevant government department, chamber of commerce or embassy. Applicants can apply online via essCert.com after completing a formal undertaking, use a DIY service to print on plain paper, or request LCCI to print and post the certificate for an extra fee. Processing typically completes within 24-48 hours depending on the service chosen, with an express option available. LCCI charges differ for members and non-members, and applicants must supply supporting documents including a commercial invoice, packing details and proof of origin. LCCI can also certify or legalise other trade-related commercial and legal documents.

Who it is for

Open to exporting businesses shipping goods permanently to non-Arab destination countries (plus Egypt and Iran); applicants must register with essCert and complete a formal undertaking, and provide supporting documents such as invoices and proof of origin; LCCI members receive discounted pricing.
