Programme

Made Smarter Adoption (North East)

Digital adoption support for North East manufacturers, including specialist advice, training and match-funded grants.

About this support

Made Smarter Adoption in the North East is a programme delivered by North East Growth Hub, working with Tees Valley Business, to help manufacturers in the region increase profits, improve efficiency and grow by adopting digital technology. It targets manufacturers experiencing issues such as lost time from outdated software, underperforming machinery, or manual tasks that could be automated. Participating businesses receive hands-on help to develop a digital roadmap, access to workshops with other North East manufacturers, grants to fund expert technical advice, grants (covering up to 50% of overall cost) to help purchase new software and/or equipment, and fully funded Digital Interns to support delivery of digital projects. All grant support is subject to eligibility criteria including the business's trading status, length of time in operation, and annual turnover, with funding availability confirmed following an initial assessment. The programme is part of the national Made Smarter initiative, backed by industry and UK government, and is delivered specifically across the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and Tees Valley Combined Authority areas.

Who it is for

Available to trading manufacturing businesses located within the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and Tees Valley Combined Authority areas; grant support is subject to eligibility criteria covering trading status, length of time trading and annual turnover, confirmed following an initial assessment.
