MTC SME Support

MTC's SME support page describes the Manufacturing Technology Centre's offer to SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs in manufacturing and technology, positioning MTC as a partner providing advice, enablement and connections to expertise, technologies and collaborators, whether through a stand-alone challenge or a longer-term partnership. Support spans seven stated impact areas: product innovation and development, process innovation and improvement, digital transformation solutions, growth and scaling, supply chain transformation, sustainable manufacturing and net zero, and skills and training. The page highlights MTC's Productivity Accelerator, a fixed-price six-week programme matched-funded by MTC (business invests £7,000, matched by MTC) to help SMEs improve capacity, flow and profitability. It also references a dedicated SME funding page to help businesses identify funding routes. MTC states that partnering gives SMEs access to industry connections, enhanced commercial capabilities, and technical and non-technical knowledge, alongside access to MTC's wider facilities such as additive manufacturing, laser processing, automation and robotics, metrology, materials engineering, and digital manufacturing capabilities, delivered by MTC's cross-sector expert teams.
