Scottish Enterprise Capital Grant

Scottish Enterprise's capital grant offers financial support towards the costs of capital expenditure projects in Scotland, with the stated aim of encouraging capital investment and wage growth. Scottish Enterprise is looking for projects that deliver against three priorities: building an internationally competitive energy transition industry, scaling the impact of Scotland's innovation strengths in high-growth future industries such as life sciences, quantum, FinTech and space, and driving capital investment that raises productivity. The grant is discretionary, so meeting the minimum requirements does not mean a project will be funded; Scottish Enterprise supports the projects it judges to deliver most strongly against its strategic ambitions. It is looking for projects representing at least £1 million of company spend, and the minimum grant it will consider is £250,000. The maximum intervention rate depends on company size: up to 40% of eligible costs for a small enterprise, up to 30% for a medium enterprise and up to 20% for a large enterprise, with the actual award depending on how much support the project needs to proceed and on the assessed economic benefits.
