Tees Valley Business Growth Support

Growth Hub service connecting Tees Valley businesses to funding, innovation, skills and export support.

About this support

Business Tees Valley is the Local Growth Hub for the Tees Valley region, delivered by Tees Valley Combined Authority and supported by funding from the Department for Business and Trade as the local delivery partner for the Government's Business Growth Service. It acts as a connecting service, directing businesses to funding, innovation, skills, export and growth advice through a searchable Business Support Directory and an events programme of workshops and networking sessions. Alongside general business support, the site lists specific funded programmes, including an Apprenticeship Levy Matching Service that connects levy-paying businesses with local firms wanting to take on apprentices, and Made Smarter, aimed at manufacturers wanting to adopt digital tools to improve efficiency and productivity. The Combined Authority also administers UK Shared Prosperity Fund support and highlights case studies of businesses that have used grants and advice, for example on apprenticeships, digital adoption and energy efficiency. The Authority states a new, simplified business support service is planned for winter 2026, with early registration encouraged. Businesses can register interest to be matched with relevant funding and support opportunities as they become available.

Who it is for

Support is aimed at businesses operating in the Tees Valley area (covering the local authority areas served by Tees Valley Combined Authority); individual funded programmes such as Made Smarter and the Apprenticeship Levy Matching Service have their own separate criteria referenced on the site.
