WMG SME Support

WMG SME Support is a service from WMG at the University of Warwick offering a team of specialists dedicated to helping UK-based SME manufacturers become more productive and profitable, aimed at businesses that want to plan ahead, drive growth and stay competitive but are constrained by day-to-day operational pressures or a lack of specialist in-house expertise. The team focuses on West Midlands manufacturers producing components, materials or other manufactured goods. Support covers business transformation (including productivity improvement, waste and variation reduction, strategic planning and people development), digital manufacturing (monitoring and sensing technology, visualisation, automation and robotics, data analytics, software systems and electronics design), and materials and manufacturing expertise (design support, multi-material and additive manufacture, sustainable materials, and end-of-life recycling and reuse). The page describes the offer as comprehensive, spanning financial backing, networking, research capabilities, net zero cohorts (such as the separate Net Zero Innovation Network) and one-to-one personal assistance.
